  Lovers Lost in the Stars

Myla didn’t realize how different her life could be until she was kidnapped and stranded with two of the most devastating males she had ever met. Captain Dwaain Moreson and his second Lewan were from the planet of Xylan and Protectors of the planet. Dwaain was also leader of the planet.

Finding Myla and her father stranded in space had been a stroke of luck for Dwaain. Being attacked by the Meglan and stranded with the little female and Lewan worked nicely into his plans. Plans for him and Lewan to be bonded to the woman.

Would fate intervene again and take her away or would all their dreams come true?

  Chapter 1

“Father, we’re dead in space. I can’t get the engine to restart.” Myla told her father as she looked at the instrument panel.

“Myla, send out a distress signal,” Kowlan answered. Myla and her father, Kowlan were traveling home from negotiating with the De’Nawl. The water contract was almost up and if it was not renewed their planet would die. As head of their planet, Kowlan was a trained negotiator. Myla was to follow in his footsteps as was custom being the oldest born child. Kowlan’s time as leader was almost up. Their planet, Xwrest, would soon depend on Myla. Myla nervously sent the signal, checking the radar to see if there were any ships in range to effect a rescue. The screen was blank. “I see nothing in range, father. Should I notify the council to send out a search party?” “Yes, daughter, inform the council. I will try to make repairs.”

  “But father…”

“No arguments. As future leader, all efforts must be made to protect and ensure your survival. My life no longer matters.”

Myla knew arguing would only make her father more determined, so she returned to the console to send the necessary messages.

Myla sat in the ship hoping her father would be able to fix whatever had caused them to stop. She should have been the one to go out and do the work. She was younger and had more training in space, but as the next leader of their people, she was to be protected at all costs. She scanned the area again looking for any possible help. There had to be someone out there. They weren’t that far from the shipping lanes. Surely someone would hear their distress signal. Suddenly, she saw a ship hurling at them at a high rate of speed. In a panic, she called her father, “Father, you need to come in now. There’s a ship, and it appears to be out of control. It’s coming way too fast and directly at us.”

She started the procedure that would retract her father back into the ship and set the navigation controls to move them out of the way if possible. When Myla tried to get the ship to respond and adjust their course, the ship moving towards them continued to barrel at them at an alarmingly high speed.

Kowlan removed his space suit and walked over to stand behind Myla. “Father, the ship still won’t respond. I can’t move us out of their path.”

“They do not appear to be slowing. Raise the deflector shields and brace.” Kowlan quickly helped Myla tighten her harness before doing the same for himself as they both watched the ship continue towards them. They watched in horror while the ship came closer and closer. Myla braced herself for the impending crash, but it never came. She opened her eyes and looked through the view screen to see the ship stationary in space just outside of their deflectors. “Father, look. They stopped. Do you think they heard our distress call?’

“I am unsure, daughter. Try the communicator and see if they respond.”

Myla spoke softly knowing any response they received would be translated into their language. It wasn’t long before they had an answer. The male voice was deep and rumbled through the ship when the response came. “Prepare for boarding.”

Myla looked at her father and released the lock on the weapons compartment. Before either of them could get to the weapons, two large men appeared in front of them. Myla stood swiftly. “Identify yourself. You are trespassing on the vessel of the Royal Family of Xwrest. As leader, I demand that you identify yourself.”

“Oh you do, do you, little female. I am Dwaain commander and leader of the Protectors of Xylan. I demand to know the reason you have invaded our space.”

“Sir, I have heard of your force and admire what you and your people stand for. It was not our intent to invade your space. My daughter and I were returning from a diplomatic conference with De’Nawl negotiating for water rights. Our ship has malfunctioned, and we are stranded here. We must have drifted into your space without realizing it,” Kowlan explained.

Dwaain never took his eyes off Myla while he listened to Kowlan. Without a word, he looked at the other man with him. The other man nodded and disappeared. “Lewan is my second. He will affect repairs on your ship if possible. I invite you to join me on my ship. It is larger, and we have many accommodations for visitors. You will be more comfortable there.”

Before Myla or her father could protest, they were transported to the other ship.

Myla looked around. The ship they were on was much bigger than the little trans ship she and her father used for the hop between planets. This ship was built for interstellar travel. Dwaain took her hand and led her around. “This is the dining hall, if you are hungry we can prepare anything you like,” he told her and continued to lead her through the ship. “These are the sleeping quarters. This will be your room while you stay with us. My quarters are here.” He indicated the door beside hers. “Where will my father be staying?” Myla asked looking around to see where her father was.

Dwaain turned so that Myla had to back
against the wall. He placed one hand on the wall beside her head trapping her with his body. “Your father has been escorted back to Xwrest. You are my guest now and will be staying with me until I determine differently.”

“What? What do you mean? Father! Father!” Myla screamed and pushed against Dwaain trying to get away. Dwaain stepped closer until his body pinned Myla. He was standing so close she couldn’t move. “Calm down. Struggling will get you nowhere.” Myla looked up into Dwaain’s eyes and could see the determination there. Myla realized that Dwaain was not affected by her struggling. She took a deep breath and drew herself up to her full five-foot five-inch height. Dwaain still towered over her by almost a foot. “Sir, as future ruler of Xwrest I demand to know your intentions.”

Dwaain looked down into her eyes. “Oh you do. Well, Ms. Future Ruler, those will soon become apparent.” He leaned down and took her lips with his. By the time Myla realized that he had released her, she was locked in her room. Myla beat on the door for several minutes, more out of frustration. She didn’t expect anyone to come to her rescue. She turned and looked at the room she had been locked in. As prisons went, it wasn’t so bad. The room was spacious and furnished with large heavy furniture. As Myla explored, she found a door that led to a bedroom with a large bed. A door in that room led to a bathroom furnished with a large shower and tub along with the necessities.

Myla walked around the room a few more times, looking for an escape route. When she found nothing, she sat in the chair to wait, not knowing what else to do. She must have fallen asleep. When she woke, the room was bathed in a soft pink glow. There was a covered tray sitting on the table. She lifted the lid and found a small meal. She realized she was hungry and debated eating. Should she refuse food until they let her go? Her stomach wouldn’t let her even consider that idea, and she sat to eat. The food, though strange in appearance tasted good enough, and she finished the plate. She looked for something to wash the meal down and found a carafe of amber colored liquid. She sniffed, and the aroma was remarkably like Devino, a mildly alcoholic drink that was served with meals on her home planet.

She poured a small amount in the container provided and took a small sip. It tasted stronger than Devino, but she was very thirsty and drank the entire glass. She picked the carafe and glass up and carried them to one of the large chairs. She set the drink on the side table and looked around her prison. What was she going to do? She hoped her father was safe and not worrying about her. Her mother had passed away shortly after Myla was born and it had been Myla and her father alone for many years. They were very close.

Myla looked around the room. It wasn’t as opulent as her quarters at her home on Xwrest but would be comfortable.

She went to sip more of her drink and noticed the glass was empty. She picked up the carafe to refill it when there was a knock at the door. Lewan walked into the room carrying a small box. “Dwaain sent this for you. He thought it would be more comfortable than your flight suit. He requested you put this on and await his visit.” He handed her the box and left the room.

Myla looked at the box in her hands and set it on the table. It didn’t matter what was in there; there was no way she was changing for that man. He had a lot of nerve thinking he could tell her what to do. She thought back to the way he had controlled and kissed her. No man had ever had the nerve to do that to her before. As future ruler, her social life consisted of escorting various dignitaries to the many functions Xwrest and their neighboring planets provided. Her future was planned. She was to be joined with one of the young men from a neighboring planet. The mating would be good for both worlds. Naglan was a nice enough young man, the same approximate age as Myla, but she didn’t feel anything for him. There was no stirring in her nether parts like there was with Dwaain. Why was she even thinking of him? He was her captor. She shouldn’t be having thoughts like this about him, but all she could think of was the way his body and lips felt when he had her pinned against the wall. His heat, the scent of his body. He was man, all man. Not a boy like Naglan.

She paced the room wondering what she should do? In her training as future leader, she’d taken classes to prepare her for this situation. She’d been taught to always cooperate with her captors while giving as little information as possible. She looked at the box in her hand wondering what was in it. It wouldn’t hurt to open it and look. Her flight suit was comfortable, but she had been wearing it for several hours now, and a change would be welcome. Myla slowly opened the box. It won’t hurt to look at it. I don’t have to put it on. I’m doing this for me not because he requested it. It has nothing to do with him; she told herself as she reached into the box and pulled out the garment within. The material was iridescent and faded from blue to green depending on how the light hit it. It was very soft and sheer. She could see a vague outline of her hand through it. She held it up and saw it was a long gown with splits up each side that would reach her hips. There were two thin straps that would go over her shoulders and crisscross across her back. The garment was backless and floor length.

She held it up to herself, and it appeared to fit perfectly. She carried the garment into the sleeping room and saw that there was a floor length mirror on one wall. She looked at the reflection. It was hard to visualize how it would look with her flight suit on. She glanced around the room, not sure what she was looking for. It couldn’t hurt to try it on. There was no one else in the room, and there was no way anyone would be able to see her. With one more furtive look around she quickly stripped out of her flight suit. Feeling the stickiness of her skin, she decided to take a quick shower. Refreshed and feeling much better, she pulled the garment over her head. It was soft and silky and seemed to float down over her curves. As the garment settled it molded to her body like a second skin, she looked over her shoulder at her reflection and saw that the back was cut to just above her buttocks. She could see a hint of the crease it was cut so low.

She looked at her flight suit lying on the floor. There was no way she was putting that back on. Ugh. Still wearing the silky garment, she walked back into the main room of her prison. She wished she hadn’t finished all the drink. She curled back up in the chair feeling very relaxed. She had nothing to do but think and drifted off to sleep wondering what it would be like to be joined to a man like Dwaain, a strong, virile, alpha male.

  Chapter 2

Dwaain watched the monitor as the little female explored her rooms. He had not expected her to be the one. The one he was to mate. He had known the minute he transported onto her ship that she was his. His people, the Protectors of Xylan had been watching her planet for years, waiting for the time to be right. A mating with her kind would be very advantageous. The trade rights alone would expand the benefits to his people not to mention the increase in wealth for not only his family but the population also.

He continued watching as Lewan took the package to her, wondering if she would wear the garment or rip it to shreds. The little female was a strong woman. He had watched her for many weeks and could see no signs of weakness. Her skills would bring great favor to the negotiating table. Her body would bring much pleasure to his bed. He wondered if she would submit to him or if she would be his equal in the mating bed. He could imagine the feel of her curves beneath him. The female was small and delicate, unlike the women on his planet. He briefly wondered if she would be able to bear his young without harm. He would need to consult the royal physicians, that was something he hadn’t thought of before. He continued watching, and the female took the garment to the sleeping room. There were no viewing ports in that area, and she was lost to his sight. Lewan returned to the control room. “Still watching her?” he asked pulling up a seat

“She seems to be adapting well don’t you think?” Dwaain continued watching the screen, not wanting to miss a thing.

“She’s coping. What other choice does she have? When will you tell her our plans?” Lewan asked watching the screen with Dwaain.

“I’m not sure. I want to see how sh
e reacts to each of us first. You need to spend some alone time with her, just as I will.” Dwaain said as Myla returned to the sitting room in the garment he had provided.

“Wow! You were right; she’s gorgeous in it. The sizing was perfect as always.”

“I’ve never guessed wrong in the last ten years.” Dwaain bragged. He walked to the door. “Time for me to go visit.” Dwaain stopped by his quarters and picked up another carafe of Devino, the drink seemed to relax the female’s inhibitions, and he would need all the help he could get for her to listen to what he needed to tell her.

He knocked once on the door and released the lock letting himself in. The little female was curled up in the chair. She looked so small, perfect in his eyes. He stood over her for several minutes watching her chest rise and fall as she slept. She moaned and moved in the chair, and he wondered if she was dreaming, dreaming of him perhaps? He squatted down in front of the chair, watching her a little longer. When she cried out, he couldn’t stop himself and lifted her out of the chair and into his arms. “Shh. Shh, little one. No one will harm you here. Shh,” he whispered rocking her in his arms. He pressed gentle kisses in her hair, inhaling the faint floral fragrance. Her hair was a dark purple color and flowed down her back to the curve of her ass. He continued rocking her and murmuring softly until she appeared to settle down and relax. He moved slowly and sat in the chair still holding her. He ran his hand gently over hair and back, rocking her. “Poor little one, all this has worn you out. I will never harm you. You are mine to love and protect.”
